Whether an Iowa native or transplant, we understand that joining a new community can be rather daunting, leaving our new property owners with a host of unknown questions relating to utility services, amenities and governing rules related to property ownership. We hope to clear up the basics for you and encourage you to share any ideas with us, so that we can continue to add onto this section.
Annual Dues
Dues should be mailed to LLPOA, P.O. Box 8, Bernard, IA 52032. As an alternative, dues may be paid in person from noon to 1:00 P.M. at the Fall General Membership Meeting.

Utilities
Maquoketa Valley REC (800) 927-6068:Â Offers electrical service and internet. Bernard Telephone (563) 879-3203:Â Offers Internet, landline, and television service.
ECIA (800) 942-4648:Â Septic utilities are paid to ECIA.
Garbage
Acceptable items include household trash only. An average of three 35-gallon bags per week are allowed. No unbagged recyclables (i.e. cardboard boxes or large plastic items). Click here for full list of unacceptable items and what to do with them.
Recycling
Recyclables are no longer accepted in the LLPOA dumpsters and must be taken to the Otter Creek recycling dumpsters on 183rd Avenue (first right past St. Lawrence Church before reaching highway 61).
Road Maintenance
Road Maintenance including grading, paving and graveling is managed by a committee of volunteers. LLPOA is responsible for the community roads and common area parking only.
Snow Removal
Plowing will begin when snow reaches a depth of 3”. Only the community roads will be treated and or cleared. If there is an ice event, the roads will be treated with gravel and calcium chloride as needed.
Amenities
Beach, Horseshoes, Miniature Golf, Gaga Ball, Playground, Pavilions, Kitchen, Shower/Bath Houses. Our road structure is private property, so owners can drive ATVs, Golf Carts, Scooters, and other small engine sport vehicles.
